CHUIGUAN CHALET!

CHUIGUAN CHALET TOTALLY BLEW ME AWAY (:
Okay after reading / hearing many many people's accounts of what happened at chalet, here's MINE (which would be partly simei's and yuyue's too)!
I'm gonna split it into FOUR PARTS.

Part I- Food Fiasco
Okay so since exam was two days after chalet, I sort of had a rushed piano lesson a couple of hours before we were supposed to meet up to go grocery shopping. Then alot of things happened which made me feel like going OH MY TIAN WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO.
1) chew couldn't make it anymore : ( but that's okay lah haha I understand!
2) laobao fell quite sick : O
3) the other three grocery shopping heroes were coming a little later- boss at 3 instead of 2 cos I think i smsed the time wrongly to her :X, AND THE TWO BLURPOKS BAO AND YUYUE ON THE MRT. bao left her phone at home so she had to go back to get it and when yuyue was at bedok, bao was still at dover, but it turned out that yuyue would be later too because she blurblur took the train going towards BOON LAY. +_+ Okay and I also hadn't really packed my bag, so we were all late.

Then once bao and yuyue reached pasir ris MRT, mummy and I went to fetch them and she dropped us off at Ehub. We were kinda lost and deciding where to eat and when we saw this restaurant with BAKED RICE STUDENT MEAL yuyue and I totally screamed manically and dragged bao to the restaurant. Because we are such baked rice nutters. There were three flavours of baked rice so we almost immediately gave the waitress our orders and she must've thought we were extremely hilarious as we were still going high over baked rice. Then we talked about our plans for jc and how scary it must be and how we really really didn't want school to start next year. After lunch we rushed to the NTUC which was kinda next door, mentally went through what we had to buy and started shopping. AND NO ONE COULD PUT THE COIN IN THE TROLLEY EXCEPT ME HEEHEHEHEH. *ego triumphant look*
What happened next I can't really remember, but it was like watching three extremely and downright obviously kiasu-singaporean aunties trying to get the cheapest and good-est stuff to adhere to their budget. Yuyue was hunting left right and center for her beloved sotong balls, simei was answering phone calls from koh that naughty naughty woman who didn't want to take shuttle buses, and I was....... prodding at crabsticks and trying to count how many there were in each package. While simei and I were scooping prawns into a plastic bag to weigh, yuyue found a cheaper package of prawns so we uh..... dumped the prawns back into the freezing mountain of ice, apologized profusely to the prawns, left the smelly plastic bag somewhere I can't remember, and went off to compare more prices. Oh gosh our auntie-ness is beginning to show since we're already quite old seniors (but still younger compared to the OLDER aunties), 'coz we insisted on getting the cheapest types of drinks, tissue, bar soap and practised the take-things-from-the-bottom-cos-they-are-better kind of thing.... terrible ah. In the end we didn't overspend, in fact we were under the budget, so since yuyue was also very much in love with STAPLE, CARBO-LOADED FOOD other than her sotong balls, we realised we didn't have much time but still jammed everything into the trolley and sped off to find some way to push the trolley all the way to downtown east's food court so we could find some STAPLE food to buy. Initially bao and I left yuyue to guard the trolley alone in the carpark, but we walked the wrong way so we decided to just carry everything and go to the foodcourt together instead of pangseh-ing an already rather sad-looking yuyue.

AT THE FOODCOURT. got more fiasco heheh. We dumped all the shopping onto one large round table near the entrance and left bao sitting there to guard the stuff while yuyue and I dragged each other round and round the foodcourt trying to buy staple food. So we went to the nasi padang stall but they sold rice and mee siam for quite a high price, then bao was still entertaining koh on the phone and boss finally reached so we had one extra helper yay :) we couldn't get chicken rice or noodles or any sort of plain rice, so we tried our last shop where the nice boyboy sold us two big packs of yummy beehoon for ten bucks each. I think he was amused. +_+ then yuyue and I pangsehed boss at the noodle store and pangseh-ed bao who was by now stoning at the table full of groceries, cos we were super super super urgent so we went toilet. haha. Wah at last after we took the beehoon, mummy came to fetch four of us to the chalet, we checked in and met the juniors who had to walk while we enjoyed the comfort of VALTEO'S MOTHER EXPRESS all the way to the bungalow. Then just before I left to go home and get my things mum and I saw pris and daniel at the chalet next to ours coz coincidentally the 2 of them were having their CCA chalet, and uncle sunny was having his own class chalet, both on the same day and in the same area. Ohmytian so cool :D then the rest were like "wah valteo ah your whole family always go chalet one hor."


Part 2- BARBECUE.
Wah part 1 so long ah.
Okay so when I reached the chalet in the evening it was abit late, didn't really eat much except for abit of beehoon, two sausages and five marshmallows. The three of us were mainly bbqing and still lamenting on how we really really really REALLY didn't want JC to come to us and neither did we want to go to JC, while the juniors were quite funny 'coz all of them- esther mengqing jiaqian yixin yingbao xiaohan and ginteng- were all squashed up on a not-very-long bench near the bbq pit. Then yuyue bao and I had a Scandals Galore time with boya yongzhu and boss, and the three of us were like being super kiasu and asking as much as we could (and confirming rumours) about jc stuff.

Aha and ginteng was super kaypoh coz she went to ask daniel for his name when he was innocently passing by to say hello to me and uhhhhh +_+ ah teng i'm gonna hang you up on my fireplace, when I get one.

which until now ginteng still believes (do you?!) boss boya and yongzhu are in.... +_+
When koh and yixin came back they helped us ALOT with the fire because the j1s went in to play cards with bao (who almost won a set with boss if bobo's dad hadn't arrived NYEHHH). The fire was so stubborn and since after trying all sorts of crazy ways to start a nice roaring fire- lighting up dead leaves, tissue paper, satay sticks, MARSHMALLOWS- we just decided to explore with the microwave functions to cook the remaining chicken.
AND BAO AND I ARE SMARTZ because we figured out how to use the instant cooking function on the microwave oven, and after fearing that the thing would explode (which didn't) and telling each other "if this thing explodes and I die, tell ..... ", we had very yummy prawn paste baked chicken! :D so yeah man kudos goes to ginteng for gobbling up most of our chicken, yingbao and jiaqian for helping to eat as much chicken as they could, ginteng xiaohan and yixin for their fire-starting ideas, koh for putting her hand at constant risk to light up the 10001 things like leaves and marshmallows, and the three older aunties for starting the bbq heehee :)

After esther mengqing boya boss and zhu left, we decided to clear up while koh and yixin went to bathe... So we camwhored awhile by propping the camera up on a stack of chairs and using the 10sec timer, then started cleaning the whole place up. This is the FIRST chalet where I had to clean up alot of things and do the bbqing and stuff- mostly during the church youthcamps all the brave uncles would man the bbq and the aunties would come with nice catered food and orange sprite :D
While washing the plates I realised...
I FORGOT TO BUY A FREAKING SPONGE.
Which meant that jiaqian and I had to do the washing with our hands, some bits of plastic bag and mama lemon. But it was quite fun still 'coz jiaqian yuyue bao and I stayed in the kitchen for probably nearly an hour, just talking about irritating cousins and how we dealt with them etc. Okay I think it's quite mean but I suppose my entire network of close friends (i.e. those who visit my blog and/or are with me long enough to hear me complain and get frustrated with life) knows about the puny little pest of a cousin I have. Heehee then ginteng and yingbao came along so we camwhored some more! Pictures all on facebook 'coz I've no patience to load them all here.

Part 3- HONEYMOON HEEHEE
Once everyone went into their rooms to bathe, bao yuyue and I locked up all the doors, checked the meter and went to our rooms to hide and talk talk talk talk talk talk until 3am. During this period of time quite a number of events took place, like how yuyue kept hyperventilating about bao's _____ with people, and the EVIL CENTI/MILLIPEDE IN THE BATHROOM. Probably yuyue didn't even notice it 'coz she was too busy getting excited with what bao and I were shouting about in the room- categorizing people into three groups: people who shave habitually, people who shave only when they need to, and people who don't shave at all. This is gross ahaha but since there's three people in our room you can secretly and discreetly guess which of us belongs to which category :D Then when bao was bathing yuyue and I started camwhoring when suddenly bao came out faster than expected.
"There's a centipede in the toilet leh."
Yuyue goes HUH I DIDNT NOTICE IT LEH and valteo COMPLETELY FREAKS OUT.
Haha.
"So I'm going to jiaqian's room to wash my legs okay?"
"Eh valteo go and bathe lah..............."
And so for the next ten minutes or so the three of us were taking turns to pop our heads into the bathroom to check where the centipede was. It was so gross and hairy and crawling all over the wall of the shower area that I almost decided not to bathe. Until we decided to wash down the nasty thing down the drain by leaving the tap on for a very, very long time. (Long enough for yixin to ask us the next morning at BK why we had the tap on for so long)
Heheh. Six long minutes later...
"Okay to prove that there is no centipede there already, I'll go inside and wash my feet instead of going to jiaqian's."
And then I went to bathe (and screamed alot to frighten the centipede / to reassure myself that there was NO centipede) :D BAO IS MY HERO.
The rest of the night we were quite mean coz we didn't go for the ghost stories thing with the juniors :( but coz we had so much to talk about and it was stuff that we couldn't exactly discuss properly on msn or on the phone, so we stayed munching on yuyue's oregon chips for the next few hours. Until we got so tired we all collapsed on the bed in very awkward positions at about 3am. I think koh and ginteng came to call us out (I vaguely heard their voices) but they saw asleep so they went off :D
AND WE DECIDED TO BE LAZY AND NOT SEE THE SUNRISE THE NEXT MORNING. no one did, come to think of it.

Part 4- R21!
Then the next morning we were so sleepy but got up to count and collect money instead. I love bao for being so organized and responsible with the money and yuyue with the meter and the crockery :)
Koh and yixin came in to talk about the bball session they went to the previous afternoon, while bao yuyue and I simply stared transfixed 'coz they were like a tv show haha! The five of us ended up having an extremely R21 discussion, the details of which I shall not (and never) mention here heeheeheehee JUNIORS WHO ARE SEC TWO AND BELOW HA HA YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO COMPREHEND THE MATTERS OF THE OLD ONES. It was pretty funny and uh....... insightful?
Checking out was quite disastrous 'coz they couldn't find a plate, because someone apparently had placed the plate on top of the fridge so we went hunting high and low for it until the checking out lady found it on the fridge and we were like OHHHHHHHH MANNNNNNNNNNN. Then the juniors had breakfast at Macs while we had ours at BK (coz I'm still sorta abstaining from anything Macs except mcflurrys, and the other two wanted to try the sandwiches). After breakfast I went to buy soyabean ice cream yummy yummy and we talked with the juniors for awhile, took group photo and then mummy fetched us home :)
