medical appointments
ahaha. Finally a day when I am totally free to blog. let's see...Sunday: not much actually. kevin went to church, elizabeth is OUT and kenneth was staying at his aunt's place at bukit panjang... awwwww... There's gonna be a dinner at Swensens for all those who attended the MTC camp on friday. YAY! ICE CREAM at last! However...
Ice cream=high sugar content=diabetes and FATS=treatment=possibly the point of no return=DEATH, my dears, DEATH!
so sorry. very paranoid about ice cream since i started dieting last year. :)
ANYWAY. ice cream is fine. as long as it's taken in moderation. heh.
After kind of a hectic lunch at wisma dad, agogo and I took mom and ahma to this beauty world plaza in Bukit Timah. I heard that it was some sort of an Ah Soh's Paradise. wheeeeeee. wait i'm not an ah soh. So on the long ride back it was just me and agogo and dad, and agogo and I almost drove my dad crazy with all that singing and kissing and yelling at the back of the car. MUACKS!
Tuesday and today
WAH KAO tuesday and today was TOTALLY MEDICAL APPOINTMENT DAYS.
On tuesday morning I woke up to find mom snoring right beside me on the bed, and since it was only 9 plus we slept and slothed until about 10.30am before really getting up. The whole morning was once again dedicated to Shao Nian Te Gong Dui and I decided to multi-task and bake some sort of bread called damper, which turned out to be a whole buttery mess which only my dog enjoyed thoroughly. Guess I'd better stick to cookies and brownies for now.... I had to follow mom for her finger appointment at the orthopaedic clinic at TTSH, then to my own dental appointment at 5pm. The dental clinic was at this extremely ULU place in orchard, and we were wondering why anyone would choose to set up a clinic there.
I had to do three x-rays for my teeth and jaws. so expensive lar... -_- Actually the whole process was really fun! In the end we discovered that I was missing two permanent teeth, and i'll probably going for extraction after christmas (i hope so, or else cannot eat xmas goodies), after extraction, braces to correct the alignment of my lower teeth and to pull them back so I won't look so weird with my lower jaw protruding outwards. I think that some people with protruding lower jaws tend to be mistaken for being snobbish or putting on airs, probably coz the jaws make your chin automatically face more upwards than down. And of course this makes it look as if the poor person is always walking around with his/her head high in the air. and blah blah blah. PEOPLE, DON'T THINK LIKE THAT HOR........ Oh and in order to make a model of my teeth, the dentist pressed my teeth into this yellow delicious vanilla-flavoured agar-agar plasticine-like mould and I felt so much like licking the bits of yellow mould... yummy... Well so braces it is for me! probably blue braces... yeahh...
WEDNESDAY (which is today lah) :)
Today was another medical appointment for me. Sigh. Three days before my birthday in August my family doctor was just examining my back when she noticed a slight uneveness in the alignment of my hips. She gave us a referral to the private doctor at s'pore General hospitaL so we had to go consult him today. at 8am. EARLY IN THE MORNING! deprive me of sleep!!!!!! The best thing was that my waiting number was 0831 (THINK THINK! 183 CLUB! 831! 183!! WANG SHAOWEI!!!!) and i had to take an x-ray of my back. WOW the nurse made me change into a special pink-and-white x-ray gown which looked more like those bathing suits you wore to hot springs in japan. And myself and a few others (mostly old ppl, so lao kok kok!!) were pacing around in the waiting room, clad in the funny gown... you should see how funny it was... The funniest thing was that right before my turn I was urgent and ran to and from all the waiting rooms hunting for a toilet. When I got back it was already my turn so I dashed into the room and followed the nurse's instructions. The nurse handed me a slip of paper and told me to sign on a line under the words:
"I am not pregnant."
I was trying to control my laughter throughout the whole xray, and withing seconds it was completed. After changing back into my clothes mom and I went back to listen to the doctor's evaluation of my x-ray. SO SCARY. In the end he said I had a very minor case of scoliosis because the x-ray showed the lower end of my spine twisted to one side, and my hips tilted to another. SO SCARY. but the doctor said I could live with the scoliosis coz my bones just grew that way and since they'd matured, they wouldn't be able to grow some more. thank God. :D
no more corsettes for my back! wheeeeeeee!!!! :D
