harpsichord course!

the seafood family (minus annie plus jamie) went on an exciting adventure to ACS(I) to attend a harpsichord course which the MEP teachers told us to go.
SIGH I COULD HAVE PONNED IT AND ATTEND MY FIRST DA ZU. SIGH.
anyway.
Congress was a little more interesting. Or maybe it was more interesting because the topics raised were philo and CLE and other stuff. For the philo part valsoh suggested that we propose a wonderful idea to fumigate the entire philo room, which has been ant-infested for a loooooong time. Aiya very simple, just go to the philo room armed with bottles of baygon can oredi lah.
Wouldn't it have been weird if valsoh and I went up to the microphone during congress and say:
"Good afternoon madam chairperson, we are Valerie from 202 and we suggest that the philo room be fumigated asap."
oh no i can't imagine that man.
After assembly dorcas willette valsoh kiwan jamie and I waited for bean to rush down with her bag and after that we went to KFC for a super quick lunch. We met quite alot of the MEPers on the way there, and the best thing was that WE WERE LATE.
There wasn't enough time to complete our meals so we dumped all the burgers and drinks into a few plastic bags and rushed off to take the MRT to DOVER. why must ACS(I) be so far, it's practically at the other side of Singapore!
While we were waiting for the train to arrive dorcas accidentally spilled the coke and sprite, and we were frantically cleaning up the mess with tissues until the MRT train arrived. We knew we were already going to be late so we had no choice but to run into the train just as the door was closing, leaving behind a puddle of coke. We felt so bad that we called up the orchard MRT station while we were in the train, to CONFESS our MESS. the lady was pretty nice about it and she said she'd send someone to clean it up for us.
when we reached dover we ran out of the train without realising that there was actually another way which we could go out. So we chose the nearest door and rushed out and down the long escalator. Dover MRT station is so white and futuristic, it seemed like some sort of air base in a foreign planet. Miraculously we managed to find our way to the bus stop by agaration and after waiting for a long time a bus came. Someone went to flag a taxi despite the fact that it was IMPOSSIBLE to squeeze in seven late and flustered girls into a single taxi. And anyway none of us asked for a taxi to be flagged. And taxis weren't supposed to stop there because it was a bus stop. WL. So the six of us didn't go into the cab and the taxi driver was so pissed that he was flagged for nothing so he drove off. yes good anyway we didn't have money to take a taxi.
Finally a bus came so we took it to ACS(I). By the time we reached there it was so late that we were all freaking out but we had to keep as quiet and unnoticeable as possible because it wouldn't be very appropriate if a VERY FLUSTERED AND FREAKED group of girls were seen hurrying about in a boys' school. Suddenly there were so many boys everywhere. boys here boys there boys everywhere. We got directions from some people, which were at least helpful enough to lead us up to the general office and the ground floor which was 3 storeys above where we were. We got directions from the lady in the office but while we were walking to the building a friendly usher led us to the theatre. And when we opened the door...
ALL EYES WERE ON US.
A very embarrassing moment for the seven of us. We were so scared of getting scolded by s***** k*** that we didn't really care, we went in by another door and plonked ourselves right on the stairs and continued with the lecture.
The first part of the lecture was quite interesting and the best part was that we actually got to see and touch a real harpsichord. However the masterclass got a little progressively boring and bean and valsoh were drawing loads of spastic stuff on their NOTES. ah well we were all drawing.
I met cbw and xianhui during the short break. and other than that the rest of the masterclass was really honestly kind of boring and besides taking notes I spent the time trying to think of the names and types of all 386 pokemon.
dorcas, bean and I went home together 'coz we're all FELLOW MEN AND EAST-DWELLERS muahaha. We were all squashed up in the MRT train and were having quite a fun time watching two small little children playing in the train... the boy was sort of playing around with his fingers and playfully gripped this Indian man's pants really hard... The man was quite shocked but i think he tried to ignore the boy. haha.
the three of us got off at tanah merah. and went home.
and that's pretty much what we did yesterday.
by the way,
I think i'm really losing my interest for Chinese. We have philo and chinese back to back on thursdays and honestly, I'm sad to say that I prefer philo, even if it means that we have to endure the ants crawling all over the floor in the philo room.
I just realised that when I was four, I strongly protested against my whole family (which includes the cousins and relatives etc) singing the birthday song in Chinese. Anyway they sang it in Chinese and I was pretty upset. Coz at that time I didn't know anything about Chinese and I had to learn Chinese songs by pure agaration.
so my agaration ability is very good! =_=
and I only started talking to my grandparents in Chinese after I managed to learn Chinese properly in primary school. Coz I used to speak in Hokkien when I didn't know Chinese.
YEAH.
I miss last year's chinese lessons... they were honestly very engaging.
