Happy CNY!
HEEHEE I AM WAYYYYYYYYYY BEHIND BUT ANYWAY HAPPY CNY YALL :)Just occurred to me that it's been ages since I last updated. oops.
BUT here's the update- I spent my CNY in bandung, indonesia!
Pretty nice place luh, and for a trip which I wasn't exactly looking forward to in the beginning, it was great. Left on the eve (PON SCHOOL MUAHAHAR) and sat SIA flight for the first time in my whole life. SIA is supergood, especially the in flight games :) Most of the whole flight to and fro was spent playing super mario, eating and attempting to unblock my poor ears which are still blocked to this very day.
We had to endure (not really that bad though) a four-hour journey to bandung from jakarta, where most of us were either overwhelmed by the scenery or sleeping like pigs at the back (i.e. my cousins and I). The whole place is abundant in green stuff, goats, cows and dunkin' donuts! :D The rest stops were nice too and their KFC seems better than the ones here. Dunno why.
Oh and at last we reached Sheraton hotel bandung! :) abit the weird to see one nice five star hotel springing up right in the middle of a cluster of old shophouses and everything with food carts all over the place, but ohwellnevermind the hotel was GREAT too!
Dinner was ummmmm at a family friend's huge sprawling hilltop private house (they have two more somewhere nearby O: ), bbq and steamboat! BE JEALOUS and willette wee you're NOT the only one who had steamboat okaye. >:)
And then we watched American Idol back in the hotel room till we fell asleep!
Day TWO/ I FELL SICK WAHAHA.
I can't remember alot of what happened except that I completely lost my appetite that day and probably ate the equivalent of one and a half plate of rice and a few chicken sticks. We drove right up to the mountain to see an extinct volcano with the huge huge huge crater at the bottom! It was so cool luh but the stupid touts had to come and destroy the whole ambience of the place by bounding up to you to try and sell their wares every chance they get. And because my aunt went and nearly bought something, our van was surrounded by a hoard of touts pounding at our windows and we had to drive off without getting more pictures of the craters. Grrrrrr go away you touts. Get away from the volcano, get a job and get a nicer un-tout-ish life.
The mountaintop was SO COLD i was shivering for the rest of the day, even after we soaked our feet in the hot springs. Our lunch was on this cool nice hilltop restaurant where we ate in a little hut exclusively for us, with cushions spread all over the floor so we all napped for awhile until the food came. I slept the whole lunch coz me was sort of in sick and dying mode already. After lunch I think mum discovered that I was having a high fever so we both stoned and sponged in a cafe until the rest were done shopping, then we slept through the night in the hotel room. Oh the most amusing thing was that they gave my mum an old fashioned clinical thermometer, the kind where you have to shake all the mercury and wait one minute for the mercury to shoot up the thermometer. THANK GOD FOR EAR THERMOMETERS AND WHATEVER THERMOMETER I'M GONNA USE FOR TEMP TAKING EXERCISE TOMORROW : )
Day three! I got well, and we went on major shopping sprees at the factory outlets :D
Then we drove back to jakarta, checked in to another nice hotel where we'd be staying for the night. Lol we survived a massive traffic jam just to get to a mall for steak dinner, but the food was pretty good there and I almost bought new skins for my ipod there.
Day four! HOME :) oh and of course before that we had some fun at the hotel first, went to another mall for lunch and baskin robbins ice cream dessert! :) Then rush rush rush check out of the hotel, said bye bye to the wonderful driver who took care of us throughout the whole trip, managed to catch the 5pm flight and got back home. yay.
And I bought popeye shirts for gourmet at last, from rumah mode. Good thing we never got to buy the shirts from bossini back here 'coz they're so so so so so much cheaper in the bandung shops. There's something popular about popeye there which I don't get. :/
I'm tired. But i finished my work and i finished blogging AT LAST hohohohoho! :) and yes i love bandung to bits and pieces :)
