atcl over!
IT'S OVER! OVER OVER OVER WAHAHAHAHA! *spins around in delight and tosses onions around for no apparent reason*totally tired out by today man.
BUT WHO CARES ABOUT TIRED ATCL IS OVER WAHOO! Or at least until I get back my results and start crying about how terribly I must've done. Aiyah.
Was super nervous last night to the point of not being able to fall asleep until almost 12. Then this morning I sort of attempted to make myself get used to the freezing cold recital studio by staying in the piano room which was freezing cold because I switched the air con down to a pretty low temperature. And last night I stuck my fingers into the freezer. Rehearsed one last time then mum drove lishan and I to milennia walk.
:D
we look super super super weird in a dress. just me actually. I wore some brilliant royal purple dress with a sash that looks more like an ultra-high belt with those flat and wide black court shoes I usually wear for CO concerts. At first it was really quite scary 'coz the candidate just before me was taking her LTCL and she sounded so pro she made out jaws drop. we could actually hear her banging and pounding furiously on the steinway inside, later we found out the door was half closed. AND THEN THE MOMENT WE CAME OUT OF THE TOILET WE FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS ALREADY MY TURN. The steward (whom my mum calls the boy-boy) was nice, he kind of helped to calm my nerves by assuring us that the examiner was nice. Although his photo on that slip of paper with all his credentials made him look about 15 years younger than he actually looks now.
and well since I've blogged something similar to this about last year's PC, shall do the same this time!
Sonata in C minor, op.13 (‘Pathetique’)- super nice super weird super cool. my fingers were really half shivering and almost thought that they were going to stay locked and stiff from the um SHEER COLD. But then after two stupid slips that i really hope werent heard by the examiner, my fingers got all hot. 3rd movement was the best today! :D
Song Without Words in A, op. 38 no.6 (‘Duetto’)- hah. if not for this piece my fingers would've totally died from exhaustion. Its really a sort of filler piece to rest properly and um quieten down? :) but since it's slow enough to emote, its the most satisfying of all the 3 pieces.
Op. 10 no.12 in C minor (‘Revolutionary Etude’)- i dunno... better than expected but could have been better. REALLY could have been better. shouldn't have slipped at the last part. the slip forced me to quickly improvise some very weird short hanon-like left hand passage while I was trying to make the right hand part so loud the mistake wouldn't be so obvious. :D oh well at least the last 4 chords were totally strong.
oh yeah the songs are by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Chopin respectively.
Oh yes it's OVER! must thank so many people, especially mum and piano teacher and lishan my pro crazy nice page turner who really really really really really helped SO MUCH. yeah next time we should do duet exam! our target! : D
OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CO today was really fun, mainly 'coz I didn't exactly screw all the high notes but we sure made the tanbo and diyinbu people in front of us temporarily deaf. SORRY BUBS. Oh and there was this HUGE COLOSSAL SCARY GIANT BEE OR HORNET OR WASP around in the jblock shared classroom during dazu. And it just so happened that it flew in our direction so while we were playing and I was holding a particularly long note, I screamed halfway and dashed out of the classroom with zhiqi. We people who are extremely afraid of bees. Wanglaoshi swatted it in the end and tried to chase it out of the window. that was one of those hilarious dazu moments I tell you. Oh great, now everyone knows that valteo is scared to death of bees. Really there were about six or seven bees flying around at the estate 2 weeks ago and my mum and I had to WALK RIGHT THROUGH THEM and I almost cried. Stupid bees.
Games! haha they were pretty fun too. Can't exactly elaborate coz I'm simply too tired. Came back late, went all crazy and happy and high just now, had quite an eventful (and food-ful) MRT joyride home with yiwei and poor brenda who sprained her ankle. YOU GET WELL SOON BRENDA AND I WANT TO SEE THAT LEG ALL WRAPPED UP LIKE A DUMPLING. I love dumplings.
WAHHHHH. Thank God it's over! Haha just finished crapping about the crazy things only-child-chaps do at home when they're alone and don't have anyone in particular to talk to. ME HAS NOW GONE TO BATHE AND PLAY POKEMON AND SLEEP. goody nights!
